BREAKING FROM A HIATUS

I have been hearing quite a lot about how everybody these days is becoming a fashion blogger or a reader of books and people, who are non-bloggers or non-readers (if there's such a word) have all the time of course to criticise those who do. Also there are those who actually do these things and I guess they feel too confident in themselves and justified to judge who can read books or who should be a fashion blogger. I'm a believer of the saying, live and let live; I have not yet found a critique, yet, because fortunately people seem to think I have a good sense of style and I'm not even sure how I feel about this because my purpose every waking day is to defy the norm, to wear something so 'outrageous' that people will actually not get it-guess this is to mean I haven't fulfilled my objective, yet. But all these is beside the point, sometimes I think I judge myself too much and it results to me feeling out of my element and as a result end up doing nothing constructive-this should be a luxury only afforded by people who've already ventured into what they'd love to do for the rest of their lives-that's what I keep telling myself and on such days like this, it actually works and I end up posting on the blog, and bearing my soul bout non-issues lol.
anywho, this was for a shoot that I did for a wonderful soul,  Closet 57, it was a lot of fun with the best photographer in town Sam Ngengi

Denim & A Pop of Colour

The most precious commodity in the universe is time, not gold, not silver. So much to do and such little time! This life amazes me and sometimes I’m even more amazed by the fact that we even bother to make anything of ourselves, how can we ever know what is really meant for us? Anyway we are humans and that is just us, trying and aiming at goals and dreaming of things that we are not even sure of. Guess that’s what makes life so exciting, the uncertainty of it all!

Orange is one happy colour, and I was beyond excited when it premiered during the nyfw last week because I had some orange stuff in my closet that I used to wear so consciously because I feel like it is one of those colours that people do not wear out a lot, well it is the new black my friends so ditch out all those dull tees and replace them with oranges(not the fruit. We  here people). Anyway I am looking forward to putting the new trends(and even the old ) to personal styling!
Have a great week!

Do you remember me?

Nelson Mandela once said that our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure, it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us...that is my excuse for why I haven't been posting lately. go figure
but from now on, i promise to be posting more regularly because no matter how much I try running from it, fashion is what gives me a tick, I could stay up all night reading magazines while an hour is too much to spend on a boring business book.
Back to fashion matters, I love mixing different textures to make an otherwise ordinary outfit exciting, and what better way than with two of the world favorite textures?!:) leather and lace! this skirt I bought it because it's not common, it is a hi-low sort of and while I know hi-lows are somehow 'a thing of the past', I could not deny myself! i threw in a rather official top to give the whole look a serius feeling and that was not necessary, it was just something I chose to do. next time I'll go wall fun on the skirt
ion, nyfw and lfw!! my favorite nyfw moments are coming soon btw. ciao lovers <3
great week ahead!

THE SPHERE OF GREATNESS

This past few days, I have been thinking of life in different perspectives. I have been giving issues such as confidence, intelligence, mediocrity a serious thought and looking at the people around me, the personal characteristics that each and every one of them possesses. What makes a great person great? is it the money, their beauty, the impact that they've had in the world?
Today i just had the same argument with my friends where one was telling us how he hang out with a very prominent person's(a politician) nephew and how impressed they were by this.
I remember once attending Caroline Mutoko's conference in my school and I managed to get an autograph from her and how great it felt just to be in her presence.
Between scenario one and two (the two prominent people), who is greater?
Personally, I like to gauge greatness on the impact one has had on the people around, far and wide; not the depth of their pockets or how many businesses they own. Don't get me wrong though, wealth is great too, and greatness is relative. But think of Mutoko, she's famous because she's been a radio presenter of a famous radio station for a really long time(until recently) and look at the impact she's had in our country. She is a role model to so many girls (and even men) and the things she used to say on national radio (most of the times anyway) did make a lot of people's lives better. You listen to one of her talks and you leave that room sure as the fact you exist, that you will conquer this world; now that's true greatness for me and it's the kind that I intend to achieve.
Ultimately though, there is no one way to define greatness, there is only the act of clarifying your ideal life and having the faith that it will all come true.

HEARTY MOOD: RED STRIPES AND SKINNIES

There's nothing like having enough print in ones wardrobe, at least not for me, especially when it comes to stripes. I have like 3 black and whites(not counting the navy blue ones) and I still think that that's not enough. . . Hi, I'm Joey and I'm an addict :D

This particular sweater top has a soft tone to it and it's like it has the power to transform the vibe that i'm in when I wear it, what with the reds and the big heart shape at the front.
To add to the effect, I thought that nothing else could make a better match than a great pair of blue skinnies what do you think?

Day dreams: orange & black hues

Happy wednesday everybody!
I thought this outfit was perfect for a date with my boyfriend while comfortable enough for the office too. The temptation to go monochrome was without a doubt great but the orange hue from the shoes and the pattern on the top makes the outfit outstanding.

white cropped tee & blue sandals

Hello universe:)

One can never feel wrong with a beautiful outfit. More so, if you've gone out of the box with something that's otherwise so simple on its own, and made something beautiful and unique.
This skirt was it for me. It was handed down to my friend by her mom and then to yours truly and this is what we came up with. . .
